Bondbond

Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 10, 2026

Welcome to Bond. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bond mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by HouseTabz, Inc. DBA Bond Living (“Bond,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account or browsing the app as a guest, you agree to be bound by these Terms to the extent they apply to your use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bond. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

2. What Bond Is

Bond is a shared living expense management platform. It helps housemates coordinate household bills, split costs, make payments, and earn rewards.

Bond is not a bank, lender, financial institution, or utility provider. We provide tools for coordination and payment processing between housemates. We do not provide utility services, guarantee service delivery from third-party providers, or extend credit.

3. Accounts

3.0 Guest Use (Browsing Without an Account)

You may browse certain content in Bond without creating an account. As a guest, you can view partner promotions, partner information, and explore the app's public-facing features. Your use of Bond as a guest constitutes acceptance of these Terms to the extent they apply to guest use.

Guest access is limited. You may not redeem promotions, manage a house, pay bills, vote on proposals, or access any account-based features without creating an account and logging in. We reserve the right to restrict or revoke guest access at any time.

3.1 Registration

To use Bond, you must create an account with a valid email address, a password, and a username. You may optionally provide a phone number. All information you provide must be accurate and current.

3.2 Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@usebond.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one Bond account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate voting, points, or any other feature is prohibited.

4. Houses

4.1 Creating & Joining

Any user can create a house by providing a house name and zipcode. Other users can join an existing house using the house's unique join code. There is no limit to the number of members in a house.

4.2 House Membership Is a Commitment

Joining a house and voting to accept services creates financial obligations. Bond is designed around shared responsibility — when you vote to accept a service, you are committing to your share of that expense. House membership is not casual and should be treated as a binding cost-sharing arrangement between you and your housemates.

4.3 Leaving a House

You may request to leave a house at any time. Departure is not immediate — it requires unanimous approval from all other house members. This is because your departure affects bill splits and financial obligations for everyone in the house.

To leave, you submit a departure request. Your housemates are notified and must vote to accept or reject. If any housemate rejects, the departure is cancelled. If all housemates accept, you are removed from the house and your share of service costs is redistributed among remaining members.

You must settle any unpaid charges before departure can be finalized. If you have unpaid charges at the time of a departure vote, you remain responsible for those amounts regardless of the vote outcome.

4.4 Removal of a Member

House members may vote to remove a member. Removal requires unanimous approval from all other members. Upon removal, the departing member's service splits are redistributed among remaining members.

5. Services & Bill Splitting

5.1 Adding Services

Any house member may propose a new service (such as internet, electric, water, or rent). A proposed service includes a name, billing type (fixed or variable), due date, and a split percentage for each member.

5.2 Voting on Services

All proposed services require unanimous approval from every house member. Any single rejection immediately cancels the proposal. By voting to accept a service, you agree to be responsible for your designated percentage of each bill generated for that service.

5.3 Financial Commitment

By voting to accept a service, you enter into a binding commitment to pay your split percentage of every bill for that service.

This obligation remains in effect until:

  • The service is removed by unanimous vote,
  • Your departure from the house is approved by all members, or
  • The house is dissolved.

You may not avoid or reduce your obligation by simply ceasing to use the Service or deleting your account while active obligations remain.

5.4 Changing Splits

Any member may propose a change to how a service is split. Split changes require unanimous approval from all house members. The new split takes effect only after all members have voted to accept.

5.5 Bills

For fixed-amount services, bills are generated automatically each billing cycle. For variable-amount services, the designated member enters the bill amount manually. Each member is charged their split percentage of the total bill.

5.6 User Responsibility to Disable Provider Autopay

When you link a service provider (such as AT&T, Spectrum, your electric company, or any other utility, internet, or recurring bill provider) to Bond, Bond pays that provider on your behalf using funds collected from you and your housemates through the Service.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any direct autopay, auto-billing, or recurring payment arrangement you have set up with the provider is disabled before linking the service to Bond, and remains disabled for as long as the service is linked to Bond.

If you fail to disable provider-side autopay, the following may occur:

  • (a)The provider may charge your personal payment method (card, bank account, etc.) on file with them on the same billing cycle that Bond is paying the provider on your behalf;
  • (b)The provider may receive two payments for the same bill — one from Bond and one from your direct autopay;
  • (c)The provider may apply the second payment as a credit to your account, delay future bills, refund the overpayment, or handle it according to their own policies — Bond has no control over how the provider treats duplicate payments.

Bond is not liable for any duplicate charges, overpayments, account credits, refund delays, or other financial consequences resulting from your failure to disable provider-side autopay. Any disputes regarding duplicate payments, refunds of overpayments, or provider credit balances are solely between you and the provider.

5.7 Service Provider Account Management

You are responsible for maintaining your account with each linked service provider in good standing. Bond pays the bill amount entered into the Service — Bond does not manage, log into, or interact with your provider account directly. You must:

  • (a)Notify Bond promptly if you change service providers, account numbers, or any other detail that affects how the bill should be paid;
  • (b)Ensure the bill amount you enter (for variable-amount services) or the fixed amount you set (for fixed-amount services) accurately reflects what you owe the provider;
  • (c)Verify with the provider that Bond's payments are being received and applied correctly to your account.

Bond is not responsible for service interruptions, late fees, or other penalties imposed by the provider due to incorrect bill amounts entered into the Service, outdated provider information, or any failure on your part to maintain your provider account.

6. Payments

6.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). By making a payment through Bond, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Bond does not store your full credit card or bank account numbers — Stripe handles all sensitive payment data.

6.2 Payment Methods

You may add credit cards, debit cards, or bank accounts (ACH) as payment methods. You are responsible for ensuring your payment methods are valid and have sufficient funds.

6.3 Processing Fees

Payments are subject to processing fees:

Credit/Debit Cards

~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction

Bank Transfers (ACH)

~0.8% per transaction, capped at $5.00

These fees are charged at the time of payment and are non-refundable.

6.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, you remain responsible for the charge. Bond will notify you of the failure and you must resolve it promptly by retrying or updating your payment method.

6.5 Refunds

Because Bond facilitates payments between housemates for shared expenses, payments are generally non-refundable. Disputes about bill amounts or splits should be resolved between house members through the voting system. If you believe a payment was made in error, contact us at support@usebond.com.

7. Points & Rewards

7.1 Earning Points

Your house earns points when members make bill payments through Bond. The number of points earned may vary by service type and partner. Bonus points may be awarded for signing up with partner services or through promotions.

7.2 Points Ownership

Points belong to the house, not individual members. All members of the house benefit from and have a say in how points are used.

7.3 Redeeming Points

Any member may propose a redemption using house points. Redemptions require unanimous approval from all house members, with a 12-hour voting window. If approved, a ticket is generated that can be redeemed at the partner location.

7.4 Ticket Expiration

Redemption tickets expire 30 days after approval. Expired tickets cannot be reused and points are not refunded.

7.5 No Cash Value

Points have no monetary or cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for currency. Bond reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the points program at any time with reasonable notice.

7.6 Fraud & Abuse

Bond reserves the right to revoke points earned through fraudulent activity, system manipulation, or abuse. Accounts engaged in points abuse may be suspended or terminated.

8. Bond Premium Subscription

8.1 What Bond Premium Is

Bond Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that upgrades your entire house to the highest perks tier (“Gold”). Premium houses receive unlimited perk redemptions, 3x increased odds of receiving Super Perks, Bond Coins on every payment, and access to Bonder supply ordering.

8.2 Subscription Title, Length, and Price

  • Title: Bond Premium Monthly
  • Length: One (1) month, auto-renewing
  • Price: $4.99 USD per month, billed monthly through your Apple ID. Local currency and price may vary by region as displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase.

8.3 One Payer Per House

Bond Premium is purchased by a single house member (the “Payer”) and applies to the entire house. The Payer's Apple ID is charged the full subscription amount. Other house members receive Premium benefits without being individually billed. Only one Apple ID may be associated with a given house's active Premium subscription at a time.

8.4 Billing Through Apple

Bond Premium subscriptions are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's Terms of Sale and billing practices in addition to these Terms. Bond does not directly process Premium subscription payments — Stripe (referenced in Section 6) is not involved in Premium billing.

8.5 Automatic Renewal

Bond Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. By subscribing, you acknowledge and agree:

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription automatically renews each month unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price.
  • You may manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase (iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions).

8.6 Cancellation

You may cancel Bond Premium at any time. There are two cancellation actions, and both may be required depending on your situation:

(a) Cancelling through Bond: If you are the Payer, you may end Premium benefits for your house within the Bond app at any time via Profile → Subscription → Cancel Subscription. This immediately ends Premium benefits for the house but does NOT stop future Apple billing.

(b) Cancelling through Apple (required to stop billing): To stop Apple from charging your Apple ID for future billing periods, you must cancel through your Apple ID Account Settings. Go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iOS device, select Bond Premium, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period to avoid the next auto-renewal.

Non-Payer house members cannot cancel the house's Premium subscription. Only the Payer (the housemate whose Apple ID was charged) has the ability to cancel.

Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of the current billing period. You retain Premium benefits through the end of the period you have already paid for.

8.7 Auto-Cancellation When Premium Becomes Free

Houses with at least one linked shared expense receive Premium benefits at no cost through Bond's tier system. If your house links a shared expense after subscribing to Bond Premium:

  • Bond will automatically end its side of the Premium subscription, since Premium is now free.
  • The Payer will receive a persistent in-app notification reminding them to cancel the Apple charge through Apple ID Account Settings.
  • The Payer must cancel through Apple themselves to stop future billing — Bond cannot cancel Apple charges on your behalf.

If the Payer does not cancel through Apple after this notification, Apple will continue to charge them on each billing cycle. The persistent notification will remain visible until Apple confirms cancellation.

8.8 Restore Purchases

If you reinstall the app, switch devices, change Bond accounts, or experience an issue with your subscription not appearing, you may use the “Restore Purchases” feature in Profile → Subscription. This will re-link any active Bond Premium subscription tied to your Apple ID. Restoring is a lookup only — you will not be charged.

8.9 Refunds

Bond Premium subscription payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Bond does not have the ability to issue, deny, or process refunds for App Store purchases. Apple's refund policies apply.

8.10 Price Changes

We may modify the price of Bond Premium from time to time. Any price increase will not apply to your existing subscription until the next renewal period after Apple has notified you of the change as required by App Store policies. If Apple requires your re-consent to a price increase, your subscription will not renew unless you affirmatively consent.

8.11 Subscription Modification or Discontinuation

Bond reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Premium subscription at any time. If we discontinue Premium entirely, we will provide reasonable advance notice through the app and will not charge you for billing periods after discontinuation. Modifications that reduce Premium benefits will be communicated in advance.

9. Partner Promotions

9.1 Third-Party Partners

Bond features promotions from third-party partners (restaurants, entertainment venues, experiences, etc.). These promotions are provided by the partners, not by Bond.

9.2 Partner Responsibility

Bond is not responsible for the quality, availability, or fulfillment of partner promotions. Any issues with a promotion should be directed to the partner. Bond will make reasonable efforts to assist but cannot guarantee resolution.

9.3 Promotion Terms

Individual promotions may have their own terms, conditions, and restrictions as set by the partner. These terms will be displayed alongside the promotion details.

10. Notifications & Communications

10.1 Required Communications

By using Bond, you consent to receiving transactional notifications related to bills, payments, votes, and house activity. These are essential to the Service and cannot be fully disabled.

10.2 Push Notifications

You may enable or disable push notifications through your device settings or within the app. We recommend keeping them enabled to stay informed about votes and payment deadlines.

10.3 Email Notifications

You may manage email notification preferences in your profile settings.

10.4 Nudges

House members may send payment reminders (“nudges”) to other members with pending charges. This feature is intended to facilitate communication, not harassment. Excessive or abusive use of nudges is prohibited.

11. SMS Messaging Program

  • Program Name: Bond Living Guest Invitations
  • Description: Members of Bond Living may send a one-time SMS invitation to a guest's phone number when adding them to a shared experience in the app.
  • Message Frequency: One message per guest invitation. Frequency varies based on member activity.
  • Msg & Data Rates May Apply.
  • To opt out: Reply STOP to any message.
  • For help: Reply HELP or contact support@usebond.com.

12. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Create fraudulent accounts or houses
  • Misrepresent your identity or provide false information
  • Manipulate the voting system or points program
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other house members through the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
  • Circumvent any security measures or access controls

13. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to the design, code, text, graphics, and logos — are owned by HouseTabz, Inc. DBA Bond Living and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

14. Termination

14.1 Account Deletion By You

You may delete your account at any time through the app's Settings. The process depends on whether you are in a house:

If you are not in any house: Your account is deleted immediately upon confirmation.

If you are in one or more houses: Your deletion request creates a departure request for each house. Your housemates must unanimously approve your departure. Once all houses have approved, you are automatically removed from each house and your account is deleted.

You cannot delete your account while you have unpaid charges. You must settle your balance first.

We retain anonymized transaction records (charges, payments, bills) after account deletion as required for legal, tax, and compliance purposes. Your profile is anonymized (e.g., displayed as “Deleted User”) so that house financial history remains coherent for remaining members.

14.2 By Bond

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any reason at our reasonable discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or at the time of termination.

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Outstanding financial obligations survive termination — you remain responsible for any unpaid charges.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Bond does not guarantee that your housemates will pay their share of any bill. Bond is a coordination tool and is not responsible for the financial behavior of other users.

We are not responsible for the actions, content, or policies of third-party services including Stripe, utility providers, or promotional partners.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HouseTabz, Inc. DBA Bond Living and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount of fees you have paid to Bond in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

This limitation applies to all claims, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

17. Dispute Resolution

17.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@usebond.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days.

17.2 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17.3 Jurisdiction

Any disputes not resolved informally shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top and notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide at least 14 days' notice before it takes effect.
